Undertrial succumbs to injuries in suicide bid

Coimbatore, Sep 15 (UNI) An undertrial, who sustained serious head injuries in an alleged suicide attempt last evening, died today at Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) Hospital here.

Prison sources said Murali (28), had jumped from the roof of the Central Prison, where he was lodged.

Muralai, one of the four accused in a rape case, had surrendered along with one Murthy and Saravanapandian before a local Court. He reportedly attempted suicide after an identification parade was held in the prison yesterday.
