Power distribution improved in Haryana's 8 distt: UHVBN

Chandigarh, Sep 15 (UNI) While analysing the distribution system after erecting High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) or Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) in eight districts of Haryana, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHVBN) has observed that the number of trippings or breakdowns has reduced upto 253 per cent in the areas concerned.

While giving this information here today, an official spokesman of the UHBVN said that a random analysis of the areas of Ambala, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Jind, Panipat, Karnal and Sonepat district had been carried out by the Nigam. In the anylysis, it was found that there had been a significant reduction in consumer complaints as well as damage of transformers or power supply system.

He said that after erection of HVDS or LVDS, as many as 2442 domestic category applicants had applied for new connections and the revenue realisation had also increased.

With the erection of the system, he claimed that the electricity units sold in the areas concerned had increased from 19.39 lakh to 26.21 lakh units.

Referring to shifting of domestic meters outside the consumer premises, he said that the Nigam had targeted to shift 87500 meters during the current fiscal year, out of which 32786 meters had been shifted upto August 15 this year.
