Pleasant weather stays in Delhi, mercury rises to 33.7 Deg C

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) The pleasant weather in Delhi continued today with cool Southerly winds and light showers in the city maintaining a coolness in the air.

Though a sunlit sky this morning, after a predominantly cloudy day yesterday, led to a slight rise in mercury to 33.7 degrees C, cool Southerly winds continued to lend some coolness in the air.

Adding to the coolness was a short burst of light rains which lashed the city towards the evening.

Though only traces of rainfall were recorded, it neverthless brought with it the promise of a cool weekend.

Earlier this morning, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees C, a degree below normal. Even the maximum, at 33.7 Degree C, was the normal temperature at this time of the year.

The cool weather in Delhi and other plains of Northwest India could stay for another day or two with the cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal persisting.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with light rains or thundershowers in some areas.
