10 drowned, 19 injured as bus plunges into well

Belgaum, Sep 15 (UNI) Ten people drowned and 19 others were injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus plunged into a well at Athani taluk here this morning.

Police said ten bodies were recovered so far. The injured were admitted to various hospitals.

Most of the victims were school children, who were returning home at Kirangi village after 'Ganesha Pooja'' at their school.

Rescue operations were still on.

The bus, which had about 45 people on board, was proceeding to Kirangi from Athani when the accident happened, police added.
