Youth Hostel part time workers observe fast on demands

Puducherry, Sep 13(UNI) The part-time workers of the Youth Hostel along with their family members here today observed a fast in front of the Education Department to press their demands.

The six part-time workers, who are working in the same post for the past 24 years, were demanding their regularisation, among others.

Meanwhile, members of the Agricultural Science Trained Peoples' Welfare Association today observed a fast before the legislative assembly demanding that the trained people be posted as fieldmen in the agriculture department and grama sevaks and mazdoors in other departments.

The night-class teachers resorted to agitation before the assembly demanding their regularisation, reopening of the night classes and release of their payment due for the last few months.
