Two killed, 44 injured in separate road accidents in HP

Solan, Sep 13 (UNI) Two people were killed and 44 injured in two separate road accidents in Solan and Shimla districts of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.

At least two people were killed on the spot and three injured after their pick up van fell into a gorge near Dedh Garat, near Kandaghat, about 12 km from here, after colliding head on with a Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Jaipal and Inderpal, while three others, yet to be identified, had been admitted to a government hospital here.

In another road accident in the state today, 38 people were in a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus mishap near Nersu, near Rampur, in Shimla district at about 0900 hrs.

However, no one was seriously injured in the accident.

A case has been registered and investigations were on, the sources added.
