'Ramayan Sant Yatra' on Sethusamudram issue

Ayodhya, Sep 13 (UNI) The saints and seers of this holy city are planning a nationwide 'Ramayan Sant Yatra' on the Sethusamudaram project issue.

''We will take out the Yatra under the Ramsethu Raksha Manch to protest the centre's decision to 'destroy' the historial Ramsethu associated with Lord Ram, and terming the holy text of Ramcharitmanas a novel,'' VHP Kendriya Marg Darshak Mandal senior member Siakishori Saran said here today.

''The UPA regime is hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindus under the influence of America and Islamic powers. But, the VHP will not let this happen,'' he underlined.

Mr Saran alleged ''the union government is denying the existence of Lord Ram and hurting the soul of India. It seems the UPA has forgotten that even the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi had dreamt of Ram Rajya.'' He noted that the government, which is denying Lord Ram's existence must read the epitaph of Mahatma Gandhi, where the word Ram is inscribed.

Meanwhile, chanting anti-Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi slogans, the saints took to streets and burnt the UPA chairperson and Prime Minister in effigy.
