One electrocuted, six injured during KSEB works
Pathanamthitta, Sep 13 (UNI) One person was electrocuted and six others, all women, suffered burns, while clearing wild growths beneath the overhead 220-KV live line, passing from Moozhiayar Power House to Edappon today.
Police identified the deceased as Vasu, (60) of Kaithapram, Thannithode.
The accident occurred at Thannithode Moozhi forest area by around 1200 hrs. Vasu was electrocuted when he felled a tree, touching the electric line. Radha, Sarasamma, Janaky, Indira, Kunjumol and Janaky, who sustained injuries while trying to save Vasu, were admitted to Moozhiyar Primary Health Centre.
Altogether, 18 workers were being engaged in the 'clearing operation' for Kerala State Electricity Board.
