Middle class' thick wallet boosts branded bridal wear sales

Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) Increase in purchasing power among the middle class is fueling a phenomenal growth in sales of bridal wear designer clothes in the country, according to Bridal Asia CEO Divya Gurwara.

The estimated Rs 25,000 crore-market for the bridal wear was witnessing a 25 per cent growth annually and is attracting even international design houses, Ms Gurwara told UNI.

She said the Bridal Asia would celebrate its tenth edition in New Delhi from October 16 and over 30,000 visitors were expected to visit the show.

As many as 80 exhibitors, including four from Pakistan, would showcase their designs.

The famous fashion designers included Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Malini Ramani, Malaga, Rina Dhaka, Pallavi Jaikishan, Vinita Pittie from Hyderabad.

Ms Guruwara said though visitors would be predominantly from North India, the number of visitors from other parts of the country, including Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, was on the increase.

She said the Bridal Asia had emerged as a business to business event with number of business visitors from the US, UK, Middle East and Africa making a beeline.
