Leopard with cubs scares inmates of residetial school

Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) A leopard with its two little cubs has caused concern among the inmates of a residential school housing over 1000 students on the outskirts of the city.

The leopard was found moving in the large campus and was believed to have come in search of food from nearby Bannerghatta National Park, about 20 km from the city.

Police said the school authorities had alerted them of the presence of the animal and pug marks of the mother and the cubs were well visible in the campus where heavy rain had lashed yesterday.

However, staying out of sight, it had not attacked or hurt any one in the 60-acre Layola school campus.

Forest department personnel had planned to catch the leopard by placing a cage and bait. The operation would be held tonight, the officials said.
