Kerala wary of Karnataka's move to build check dams: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 13 (UNI) Kerala Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran today said Kerala had taken serious note of Karnataka government's move to build check dams across the rivers flowing to the northern parts of the state.
Replying to questions from Mr P Krishnaprasad (CPI-M) and others, he told the State Assembly that the government was aware of Karnataka's move and the Water Resources Department was looking into the matter.
The check dams, if constructed, could bring drought to Kasargode and Kannur districts, he said in a written reply.
