Centre gives nod to TTD's channel: TTD Chairman

Tirupati, Sep 13 (UNI) The Union Government has given the nod to Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) to start the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC), TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said.

Talking to newspersons yesterday after the one lakh saplings planting drive here, he said the Board had appointed former Director General of Doordarshan K S Sarma as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the channel.

The spiritual channel, to start operations shortly, would telecast only devotional programmes, fairs and festivals particularly related to Lord Sri Venkateswara, besides promoting '' bhakti and dharma '' among the people.
