New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) 'Cool with Cotton' carnival, aimed at generating awareness about benefits and uses of cotton, besides highlighting the fun and fashionable aspects of the fabric, kick started here today.
The ten-day carnival, being organised by the Cotton Council International (CCI) in association with NGO 'Goonj', was inaugurated by Bollywood actor Konkona Sen Sharma by donating cotton items to the NGO.
On the occasion, the actress wearing a white cotton kurta herself expressed her excitement and was glad to be associated with this noble cause. On being asked why she prefers cotton over other fabrics, Konkona said, ''Cotton being a natural fabric is suitable for every type of weather and besides it goes well with everyone's personality as well. All-in-one it gives a fresh, trendy and cool look, which makes me an addict of the fabric.'' The carnival would include mall activities and mobile vans reaching across to key locations in the city besides fun-filled interactive cotton based games with exciting prices for consumers. It will also enable customers to gather information on the uses, benefits, care and fashion tips.
