Amarinder's counsel withdraws Dubai trip petition

Chandigarh, Sep 13 (UNI) The petition filed by former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking permision to go to Dubai for making some investment there, was withdrawn today.

The counsel for the former chief minister withdrew the petition when Justice Ranjit Singh during the brief hearing pointed out that prayer had been made as an applcation in the bail petition of the petitioner, which stood disposed after the interim anticipatory bail was subsequently confirmed.

The counsel for Capt Singh while withdrawing the petition submitted that a fresh one would be filed in a day or so. The former chief minister has to seek permission from the court for going abroad in view of the case pending against him about alleged corruption in award of construction contract of Ludhiana City Centre.
