3 remanded to police custody for killing teenager

Barrackpore, Sep 13 (UNI) Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Gopal Karmakar of the sub-divisional court here today remanded three persons to police custody for seven days.

Police said the accused, Rabin Malik, Samir Debnath and Rajesh Seuli, were arrested for allegedly killing a teenager boy of Jaffarpur under Titagarh police station and produced before the court this afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off from Rabin Malik, police recovered the body of the victim, Abhishek Mandal, from a pondin Anandapuri yesterday.

Police are yet to ascertain the motive of the crime. However, involvement of a drug mafia was suspected.

Investigation was on, police added.
