3 killed and several injured in train accident in UP

Lucknow, Sep 13 (UNI) At least three persons died and several others were injured after they were hit by the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Intercity express on a railway bridge across Saryu river in Colonelganj area of Gonda district this evening.

According to police, some commuters of Gonda passenger train had stopped the train near Ghagra-Saryu bridge after pulling the chain.

However, they were hit by the Lucknow-Gorakhpur Intercity Express, while crossing the railway tracks.

So far, three bodies had been recovered from the spot.

Police fear some bodies might have fallen in the river.

Meanwhile, senior officials have rushed to the spot.
