VHP stage demonstration for Ramsethu in Kanpur

Kanpur, Sep 12 (UNI) Opposing the demolition of the Ramsethu, the VHP staged a mass demonstration by blocking road and train routes here today.

As part of a nationwide 'chakka jam', the VHP and BJP members haulted the Kanpur-Farrukhabad train for few hours at Rawatpur.

They also made an effort to block the Allahabad-Delhi main rail route, besides intercepting traffic at GT road, Mallroad, Rawatpur, Kalyanpur, Naubasta and other areas.

Meanwhile, police and PAC have been deployed in sensitive areas, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Sabharwal said.

Prominent BJP leaders Satish Mahana, Premlata Katiyar, Salil Vishnoi and others also participated in the agitation.
