Three-hour road blockade call evokes near total response
Hubli, Sep 12 (UNI) A three-hour road blockade, called by the Karnataka Shri Ramsethu Rakshana Samiti to protest against the Centre's move to demolish the Ramasethu, evoked near total response in the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad today.
Almost all vehicles, barring some autorickshaws, were off the roads from 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs.
Some of the business establishments were closed due to the weekly market holiday.
Commissioner of Police Narayan Nadamani told UNI that the protest was peaceful and traffic at some places was diverted.
