Three-day conference on storytelling conference from Sept 17

New Delhi, Sept 12 (UNI) A three-day international conference on storytelling will be held here from September 17 to showcase the diversity of storytelling techniques from various cultures.

As many as 40 celebrities from 18 countries will make presentations on how to promote peace, cultural integration and reading habit by making learning fun for the child.

Celebrity storytellers including Muriel Bloch (France), Tanya Batt (New Zealand), Manolo Silayan (Philippines), Ayesha Dogar (Pakistan), Ellis Vance (US), Wendy Cooling (UK), Keiko Tani (Japan) and Ahmed Redza (Malaysia) will participate in the conference.

The Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children (AWIC) and the Indian Section of the International Board of Books for Young People is hosting the conference to celebrate the art of storytelling.

The four working sessions of the conference will focus on the themes of ''Cultural manifestation through the art of storytelling'', ''stories beyond boundaries'', ''storytelling to promote the word'' and ''cultural integration through literature and performing arts''.

Paper reading by international experts in the field of children's literature will be a major event of the conference.

The Conference will be inaugurated by National Book Trust Chairman Bipan Chandra.
