'Smart Village' housing complex to come up near Nedumbaserry

Kochi, Sep 12 (UNI) Scion of the Travancore royal family Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma will inaugurate here tomorrow a 'smart village' housing project, to be developed over a 55 acre area near the Nedumbaserry International Airport, the promoters said.

To be developed at a cost of Rs 500 crore by Malayalee Realtors India Ltd. (Maa), the project will consist of 60 premium villas, 40 raw houses and 1080 apartments and studio apartments, Maa chairman Sabu Karikkassery said in a statement.

The project's proximity to the pilgrimage centres of Malayattoor and Kalady and the tourist attractions of Athirapally, Ezhattumuham and Cherai were added attractions, he said.

A garden spread over ten acres and a small river flowing through the project will make for quiet and beautiful natural surroundings.

To be built as a self-sufficient 'metro city', the complex will have a physiotherapy and diagnostic centre, a spacious hall for yoga and meditation, a mini theatre, a restaurant, a mini conference hall, a guest house, swimming pool, jogging track and a parking facility for 2500 cars.

The total area to be utilised for construction is 20 lakh sq ft.

While all these facilities would be developed in the first phase, which would take about three years to complete, in the second phase, a residential school, spacious convention centre and a mini stadium will be constructed. he said.

While the price of the villas would work out to about Rs 70 lakh, apartments will cost about Rs 27 lakh and the studio apartments Rs 13 lakh.
