Retd HC judge K K Narendran to probe land deal case

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 12 (UNI) The Kerala Government has appointed retired Kerala High Court Judge Mr Justice K K Narendran to probe the controversial land deals involving former Public Works Minister T U Kuruvila and his family members, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan informed today.

In a post-cabinet press briefing here, he said that as the High Court informed its inability to provide the service of a sitting judge, the Cabinet decided to appoint him to head the inquiry Commission.

Mr Achuthanandan said the Government had asked the Judge to submit his report within three months.

Mr Kuruvila, a nominee of the Kerala Congress (Joseph) group, was forced to resign his post following an allegation that he had cheated a Kuwait-based businessmen into selling a plot of land in Idukki district.
