Opening of Salem Division to be confirmed after CM's announcement

Salem, Sep 12 (UNI) The date of opening of Salem Railway Division will be confirmed after Chief Minister's announcement, State Agricultural Minister Veerapandy Arumugam said here last night.

The Minister told presspersons that Central Minister T R Balu met the Railway Minister and invited him to participate in the opening function of Salem Division on September 14. But, added that he (Railway Minister) had already committed to attend some other function in Bihar on the same day.

Mr Arumugam said the formation of Salem Division was the victory of Tamilians in the state. Within two days the Centre would release the notification in gazette, he added.
