One time settlement scheme to benefit 12 lakh farmers

Mumbai, Sep 12 (UNI) In a major relief to farmers, the state cabinet today approved the scheme of one time settlement of loans taken from Maharashtra state cooperative agriculture rural multipurpose development bank in Mumbai and 29 district cooperative agriculture rural multipurpose development banks.

At least 12 lakh farmers are expected to get a total concession of Rs 500 crore in interest due to the decision.

The farmers had received a total loan of Rs 642 crore.
