Members of Ramsethu Protection Movement held

Puducherry, Sep 12: As many as 46 members of the Ramsethu Protection Movement were arrested when they resorted to a road roko stir in front of the new bus stand to protest against the Union Government's move to demolish the Ramsethu.

The protestors demanded that the mythical bridge be protected while carrying out the dredging work for the Sethusamudhram Canal Project (SSCP).

BJP state president Visweswaran, VHP president Viswalingam and Hindu Munnani convener Sanal Kumar, were among those who were arrested.
