New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) Special CBI judge S K Kaushik today extended the judicial custody of multi-crore land scam mastermind Ashok Malhotra till September 26.

Malhotra had earlier been remanded in seven-day judicial custody on September 3.

Ashok Malhotra, whose was a typical 'rags to riches' was accused of siphoning off millions of rupees by illegally selling plots meant for displaced slum-dwellers.

CBI in its raids on his house in Mukherjee Nagar in the last week of July had recovered several incriminting documents.

Known for his proximity to some key politicians, he had allegedly sold off plots meant for relocation of slum-dwellers in northwest Delhi's Dheerpur area, in association with some Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officials.

Malhotra was also grilled in another case involving alleged fraudulent allotment of plots in Molarband Phase II here under the resettlement scheme for displaced slum dwellers.

The unearthing of the scam had brought DDA, MCD and several politicians under scanner.
