Lodge FIR against CM, demands Congress

Bhopal, Sep 12 (UNI) The opposition Congress today demanded that a First Information Report (FIR) be registered against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for allegedly supporting VHP-sponsored traffic blockade agitation in Madhya Pradesh on the Ram Sethu issue.

''The blockade was government-sponsored rather than supported by the people'', the Congress said in a complaint.

State Congress General Secretary Manak Agrawal and party MLA Arif Aqueel today submitted an application at the Shyamla Hill police station here demanding that an FIR be lodged against Mr Chouhan, who had reportedly supported the VHP agitation while interacting with the media.

Since the Station House Officer declined to entertain the application, the party leaders later met Director General of Police Anand Rao Pawar, they said in a statement.
