Anand Congress burns effigy of Modi over Rajiv remark

Anand, Sep 12 (UNI) The district Congress and the Youth Congress activists today burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, in protest over his remarks against late Rajiv Gandhi at a public function recently.

Mr Modi had termed the former prime minister as ex-husband of UPA chief Sonia Gandhi.

Amit Chavda, MLA of Borsad, said Ms Gandhi is an international figure and it was bad on Mr Modi's part to say such a thing.

After slogan-shouting, the activists burnt the Chief Minister's effigy this evening.
