Lucknow, Sept 11 (UNI) Former prime minister V P Singh-led Jan Morcha, Left parties and farmer organisations would meet in New Delhi on Thursday to devise a strategy to organise a mass agitation against the 123 nuclear agreement with the US.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Singh said his organisation, along with the Left parties and various farmers' organisations would hold a conference on September 13 in the National Capital to discuss plans to organise a 'jan andolan' against the nuclear agreement.

''I am not anti-American...but there is more of salesmanship than substance in the agreement,'' he said in a recent letter written to members of Parliament. He claimed that the ''essence of Parliamentary democracy is that the legislature controls the executive. The day executive disregards the legislature, democracy is dead,'' he said.

Meanwhile, the Jan Morcha would organise a division level 'dharna' across UP on September 15 against wheat import, acquisition of farmers' lands for SEZs and the 123 agreement. A similar day-long 'dharna' would be organised at Rajghat in New Delhi on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
