Teenager commits suicide after failing in exams
Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) A 15-year-old girl commited suicide last night by hanging herself in her room, giving rise to the teenager suicide rate in the city for trivial matters, said police here.
Vijayanagar police said Swetha had failed in two subjects in a class examination which infuriated her father, a garment factory worker and her mother. They expressed their displeasure over the matter.
Unable to bear the humiliation, the teenager hanged herself to the ceiling fan in her first floor room using her 'duppata', previous night.
Though the neighbours immediately took the girl to a hospital but she was declared brought dead, police added.
In a similar incident, three other school girls of the same age group committed suicide in the city last month, as they were worrying over the separation from one of their friend, whose marrige was fixed by her parents. That made all the four friends to enter into a suicide pact and they consumed pesticide.
While three of them died, the fourth survived as only little poison was left for her to drink.
