Setusamudram protest: Sangh Parivar to block roads on Sep 12
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Sep 11 (UNI) Various organisations under the Sangh Parivar umbrella will stage a nationwide blockade of roads tomorrow in protest against the Centre's Setusamudram Project that envisages demolition of the Palk Strait's Ramsetu for passage of ships.
''About 150 monks, led by Ambikapur's Udaseen Parmarth Ashram's Mahant Swami Harkewal Das, will lie down on a road in Raipur,'' the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samaj's Chhattisgarh unit Convenor Swami Anusuiyadas told UNI over telephone from Rajnandgaon.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad's Bilaspur unit President D P Agrawal said that a road would be blocked at the local Nehru Chowk.
''Besides the VHP, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bajrang Dal, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and others will take part,'' he added.
