Cop commits suicide after killing wife, brother-in-law

Gwalior, Sep 11 (UNI) A constable today committed suicide after killing his wife and brother-in-law over a family dispute at Murar satellite town in this district, police said.

Constable Udaybhan Singh Jatav, who was posted in Gwalior, stabbed to death his wife, Sheela, and brother-in-law, Mahendra. His father Ram Singh and son Bunty were injured when they tried to intervene. Later, Udaybhan committed suicide by jumping in front of train.

Police said Udaybhan and his wife used to quarrel frequently.

Both had an altercation last night following which she went to her brother's house.

Udaybhan sent his son to call his mother this morning. As soon as Sheela arrived, the constable attacked her with a knife. Mahendra, who intervened to rescue his sister, was also killed.

His father, who was seriously injured, was rushed to hospital.
