Amit, Gagandeep, Poonam and Arti shine in GNDU Swimming

Amritsar, Sept 11 (UNI) Amit Singh Aulakh, Rohit Sharma, Gagandeep Poonam and Arti shine in the Guru Nanak Dev University Swimming Championship being held at the Varsity Swimming Pool here.

Amit Singh Aulakh of APJ College, Jalandhar got five Golds in 200M Free Style, 200M Back Stroke, 400M Free Style, 100M Back Stroke, 200M Individual Medley. He secured bronze medal in 50M Butter Fly.

Rohit Sharma of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar got Gold Medal in 50M Butter Fly, 100M Butter Fly, 4x100 M Free Style Relay and Silver in 200M Individual Medley and 4x200M Free Style Relay.

In the women's section, Gagandeep Kaur of HMV, Jalandhar shown his prowess in this aquatic competition who bagged four Gold Medals in 200M Free Style, 200M Back Stroke, 400M Free Style, 100M Back Stroke. She got Silver Medal in 50M Butter Fly, 200M Individual Medley, Bronze Medal in 100M Butter Fly and 100M Breast Stroke.

RRMK, Pathankot gave a tough fight to HMV, Jalandhar. Poonam of RRMK Pathankot annexed four golds by getting top position in 50M Butter Fly, 100M Butter Fly, 200M Butter Fly Stroke and 200M Individual Medley. She secured Silver Medal in 4x200M Free Style Relay, 200M Free Style and 4x100M Free Style Relay.

Arti of this institute won three Gold Medals in 800M Free Style, 100M Breast Stroke and 200M Breast Stroke. She got Silver Medals in 100M Butter Fly, 4x100M Free Style Relay, 4x200M Free Style Relay, 400M Free Style, 200M Butter Fly. Arti also amassed Bronze Medals for her college in 100M Back Stroke, 200M Back Stroke, 200M Individual Medley. In the Water Polo league competition, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar defeated DAV College, Amritsar with 6-2 while Doaba College, Jalandhar beat DAV College, Amritsar 7-1, a press release said here today.
