16-year-old girl commits suicide by jumping in Bhakra Canal

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sep 11 (UNI) A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide today by jumping in Bhakra Canal near Mehdooda village.

According to the police, the girl Ramandeep Kaur, a resident of Mehdooda village, reportedly jumped into Bhakra canal when she was returning to her home after attending her school. However, the body of the girl is still not recovered.

Police claimed that the minor girl, who was 10+2 student of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bassi Pathana, was mentally disturbed.

Police has started investigations in the case and efforts are being made to fish out the girl body from the canal.
