UBI signs MoU with Everest Bank of Nepal

Kolkata, Sep 10 (UNI) United Bank of India (UBI) and Everest Bank Limited of Nepal had signed an MoU for cooperation in banking services.

Under the agreement, designated branches of UBI could issue demand drafts to the customers of Everest Bank and vice-versa, a UBI statement said here today.

UBI Chairman and Managing Director P K Gupta said the agreement had been signed to provide a safe and efficient remittance facility to the UBI's large Nepalese customer base in eastern and north-eastern parts of the country.

The MoU also involved ATM sharing between the two Banks.

Everest Bank will offer 60 ATMs in Nepal for UBI account holders, while UBI will share its 153 ATMs.
