Bangalore, Sep 10 (UNI) Two telephone calls warning that bombs were planted in a place of worship and a school respectively, put the city police on tenterhooks but a thorough search by bomb disposal squads proved that the calls were a hoax.

Police said a caller telephoned the Secretary of an educational institution at Banashankari area this morning saying that a bomb had been planted in the place of worship next to his school and it would go off in 30 minutes.

After being alerted police rushed along with the bomb disposal squad to the spot. A thorough search of the place conducted but no explosives were found.

A similar call was received by the Principal of a private school in Viveknagar, who in turn informed the police about the threat.
