TTD hands over 3 lakh books to Ganesh Utsav Panel

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman B Karunakara Reddy today said the TTD will always support organisations and individuals propagating 'dharma pracharam' and spiritual activities in Andhra Pradesh.

Handing over three lakh books to Ganesh Utsav Committee as part of Dharma Pracharam at a function here, Mr Reddy said the TTD had been organising several religious activities through the Dharma Prachar Parishad for the last 40 years.

The TTD was also distributing books to pilgrims visiting the temple with 30,000 to 40,000 books being distributed free of cost to the devotees every day.

It was also conducting 'Kalyanamasthu' (free marriages for poor) all over the state.

TTD Executive Officer K V Ramana Chary said the TTD would conduct the nine-day Annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala from September 15. The festival would start with the hoisting of the temple flag.

The auspicious 'Garuda Seva' would be performed on September 19, 'Car Festival' on September 22 and 'Chakarasnanam' on the concluding day.

Ganesh Utsav Committee Chairman G Raghava Reddy said the committee would distribute the books to devotees in the city during Ganesh festival.
