TRS stir against ''anti-minority'' Cong Govt

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Alleging that the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh was ''illegally selling'' away prime property belonging to Wakf Board, Madrasas and Mosques to big corporate houses, Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekhara Rao today threatened to intensify the party's stir to protect the property of the minority community.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rao charged the state Government with betraying the trust reposed on it by minorities by turning a ''realtor'' and selling large tracts of land earmarked by Nawabs and Nizams for community welfare to corporates.

''Is it not a fact that the Congress Government has alienated Hussain Shahmiah Dargha land to Lanco Infra ?,'' he asked.

Minorities Welfare department Principal Secretary Chaya Ratan was transferred as she allegedly stood in the way of takeover of a Dargah land in Ranga Reddy district by the Andhra Pradesh State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, he claimed.

Referring to ''picking up'' of minority youth in connection with the recent twin blasts in the city, Mr Rao claimed that the Government was creating fear psychosis. The State police had created a ''war-like '' situation by killing nine people in police firing without giving prior warning like firing in the air to bring under control the emotionally-charged atmosphere in the wake of the Mecca Masjid bomb blast, he alleged.

Similar to the previous TDP Government, the present Congress Government was also 'cheating' the minorities by allocating Rs 123 crore, just 0.15 per cent of the State's budget of Rs 80,996 crore, for minorities welfare, he contended.
