Train services limp back to normal in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Sep 10 (UNI) Train services in the East Coast Railway (ECoR) returned to normal as the 12-hour ''Orissa bandh'', called by the Opposition political parties, passed off peacefully today.

According to the ECoR release here, all en route stranded Mail, Express and Passenger trains started running after 1600 onwards.

The authorities had also rescheduled the long distance trains originating from Puri and Bhubaneswar railway stations.

The 2815 Puri-New Delhi Neelachal Express, 7479 Puri-Tirupati Express and 8449 Puri-Patna Baidyanathdham Express had been rescheduled and left Puri at 1730 hours, 1800 hours and 1830 hours respectively instead of their scheduled departure from Puri.

Similarly, 2443 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and 1020 Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express had been rescheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 1815 hours and 1915 hours respectively instead of their scheduled departure from Bhubaneswar today.

The ECoR authorities had cancelled as many as 12 Express and 27 Passenger trains and controlled 19 Mail and Passenger trains due to rail roko agitation by the Opposition political parties during the bandh period at 16 railway stations.
