Sugar prices rise in view of festival demand
Navi Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) Sugar prices today rallied on brisk festival demand from bulk consumers and retailers, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.
Small and medium grades (per quintal) were up by Rs five each on lack of offers from stockists in view of lesser stock arrivals from co-operative mills.
Similarly, ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also hardened by Rs 10 each on improved demand from dealers.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,321/1,386, Medium grade: Rs 1,380/1,485.
Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,310/1,340, Medium grade: Rs 1,350/1,440.
