Special Courts to deal sexual harassment against Women & Students

Bangalore, Sept 10 (UNI) The Karnataka Government contemplating to set up Special courts for speedy disposal of cases relating to sexual harassment against Women and college Students, Minister for Women and Child Development H K Kumaraswamy said today.

Talking to newsmen here he said that of late the State was witnessing increase in number of cases of atrocities against women and girl students in the School and Colleges.

He said that such courts would be established at Districts level also.

Atleast 135 cases related to sexual abuse on women and students were recorded last year, he added.

Stating that there was need for central law to curb such incidents, he said that he would write a letter in this regard to the Union Government shortly.
