Scouts and Guides training centre in Hamirpur: CM

Shimla, Sep 10 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said about 100 kanal of land at Rangas in Hamirpur district would be allotted for setting up a training centre of the State Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Presiding over the second meeting of The Bharat Scouts and Guides here, he said the modalities for transfer of the identified land would be completed on priority after observation of all codal formalities and in consultation with the local revenue authorities so that construction work of the training centre could be started at the earliest.

Mr Singh said that the hostel building of the Government Senior Secondary School, Berthin in Bilaspur district would also be repaired and handed over to the state unit of the Bharat Scouts and Guides for carrying out their activities.

He also announced enhancement in the grant-in-aid of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh to facilitate the scouts and guides carry their activities more conveniently.

Efforts needed to be made to associate all the elementary educational institutions with the Scouts and Guides to incorporate the spirit of discipline and dedication, he said adding that teachers needed to playing active role in making it a mass movement.
