Rupee kicks off weak at 40.74/75 per dollar

Mumbai, Sep 10: Rupee opened weak at 40.74/75 per dollar today, by nearly 6 paise from Friday's close of 40.68 per dollar.

Dealers attributed the trend to the global market turmoil and the reflected slow-down in Indian stock markets, but expressed hope that the unit may recover in later sessions.

Rupee is currently (1140 hrs) trading at 40.62/64 per US currency.
