Robbers loot Rs 3 lakh from bank cashier in train

Vadodara, Sep 10 (UNI) A six-member gang of robbers looted Rs three lakh from a bank cashier aboard the Vadodara-Kota passenger train at Bordi station in the tribal-dominated Dahod district today.

According to railway police sources, the robbers, armed with swords and other lethal weapons, boarded the train at Bordi station at around 1300 hrs.

Cashier Rajendra Umaria sustained injuries in a sword attack and was immediately rushed to a local hospital.

Umaria, cashier at the Rasarda branch of the Panchmahal-Vadodara Gramya Bank, was reportedly returning to his bank with the cash, which he had earlier withdrawn from the State Bank of India branch at Dahod.

The robbers decamped with the cash after jumping from the train.

A manhunt has been launched in the entire district.

however, so far no one had been arrested, the sources added.
