Rift between Mysore University VC and Registrar

Mysore, Sep 10 (UNI) The rift between Mysore University Vice Chancellor Prof J Shashidhara Prasad and Registrar (Evaluation) A B Ibrahim was exposed in front of the media persons today.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Prasad clarifying on the leakage of confidential records of awarding a Phd to a candidate to the press, said that he had already ordered an inquiry on the leakage of the records and the University Registrar (Evaluation) has to answer for it since, the matter pertaining to his office.

He went a little further and stated that as per University Act he had already written letter to the government to relieving Mr Ibrahim from the University.

However, Mr Ibrahim, who was also present, shot back and said he was appointed by the government and no such law in the University.

The University should give valid reasons for such actions against him.

Vice Chancellor had written letter to Chief Secretary recently stating that he would be relieving Mr Ibrahim from his duties with effect from September three, however, the government had replied stating that he (registrar) should not be relieved till Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) passes an order on the issue.

Mr Prasad also denied the allegations that the University has hickey and pinky on the various issues including awarding Phd to a candidate.
