Punjab reconstitutes Advisory Committee on Minority Affairs

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (UNI) The Punjab government has reconstituted a State Advisory Committee on Minority Affairs under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

According to a spokesman of the Punjab government, the official members of the committee includes Punjab Finance Minister, Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Punjab Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Finance and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister where as Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister would be the Member Secretary of the committee.

The non-official members from the Muslim community are Ex-Minister Abdul Gaffar , Mr Dilbag Hussain from Jalandhar and Mr Hazi Farzaldin from Moga. From Christian community, Mr Munawar Masih and Mr Manga Masih from Gurdaspur and Punjab Christian Movement President Hamid Masih, whereas from Jain community Mr Vishwa Jain from Ludhiana have also been nominated as the non-official members of the committee.

''The Advisory Committee will meet at least once in three months,'' the spokesman said.
