One Army jawan killed, 18 hurt in Poonch accident

Jammu, Sep 10 (UNI) An army jawan was killed and 18 others injured in a road accident at Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

An army vehicle, in which the jawans were travelling, rolled down into a gorge at Lohar Gali in Mendhar, the police added.

The jawan, who died in the accident, was identified as Rifleman Hidayat Singh.

Ten of the injured were shifted to the Army's Command Hopsital, Udhampur, the police informed.

A police party was immediately rushed to the spot for rescue operation, they said, adding more details were awaited.
