Kohima, Sep 10: The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has urged the Nagaland Government to allow institutes from outside the state to receive affiliation of Nagaland Board of Secondary Education (NBSE).

In a statement here today, the NSF asked the government to bring in some Legislation to enable these institutes, in particular those from the four hill districts of Manipur, to be affiliated to NBSE.

The NSF also appealed to the Nagas to extend their full support towards this perspective in the NBSE. It said the 'misgiving' and 'confusions' that surfaced last year when students of the four hill districts were allowed to appear in the examinations under the NBSE were 'irrelevant' because affiliation to the NBSE would in no way affect employment opportunities in Nagaland and the post-Metric Scholarship Scheme(PMSS).

The Naga Hoho, in a separate statement issued by its President I Bondangmayang Jamir, also reiterated the need for integration of Naga-inhabitated areas. It sought the wisdom as the Nagaland Government to expand its parameters of affiliation outside the state under the NBSE, which would definitely bring cohesiveness among the younger generation through academic institutions.
