Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the police machinery had not been pressurised at any level and all crime-related incidents were being probed with total transparency and impartiality.

Police were playing a constructive role, he added.

The police machinery had become more sensitive towards the problems of the people following which large number of people were approaching the policemen with their problems, he stated.

Mr Kumar said the policy-based changes made for establishing rule of law and the speedy trials in the cases had instilled confidence among the people in the administration.

He said the "weekly janata darbar" had become an important platform for redresseal of grievances of the common masses.
