Mukhtar Ansari to be shifted out of Ghazipur jail

Ghazipur, Sep 10 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered the transfer of incarcerated Mau MLA Mukhtar Ansari from Ghazipur prison to Fatehgarh prison.

Ansari is the prime accused in the BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai murder case.

Ghazipur district magistrate Ritu Maheswari today confirmed that orders for shifting Ansari had been recieved.

Ansari, his elder brother and Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari and brother-in-law Ejaj are lodged in jail for the last two years in the murder case.

A few days ago after getting hints in this regard, Mukhtar Ansari had approached the fasttrack court (I) judge Shailendra Nath Singh praying that any such transfer be effected only after hearing him.
