MP govt suspends official after IT raids
Bhopal, Sep 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government this evening suspended Director (Health) Yogiraj Sharma after an Income Tax (IT) raid on the official's premises unearthed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, official sources said.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan earlier told journalists that the government would take strict action against the official.
Undisclosed income of Rs 10.35 crore was unearthed in the wake of IT raids on the premises of Sharma and his associates.
During search and seizure, which started on Friday, Rs 1.13 crore in Indian currency and foreign currency valued at Rs 4.5 lakh was seized, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax M K Moghe told reporters here.
